Why We Created Hyper Aroma: Understanding the E-Liquid Format

Nov 05, 2026Vicky Stubbs

Hyper Aroma is Dinner Lady’s concentrated flavour range for preparing e-liquid. The concentrate is combined with the corresponding PG/VG base, following the instructions supplied with the product.

The range has three formats, designed to produce 30ml, 60ml or 120ml of finished e-liquid.

This article explains the format, its preparation requirements and how it relates to UK Vaping Products Duty. It is intended for existing adult vapers aged 18 and over.

Why did Dinner Lady develop Hyper Aroma?

Changes to regulation, taxation and the way e-liquid is supplied have informed our product development.

Traditional ready-to-vape products contain finished e-liquid. With Hyper Aroma, we developed a format in which concentrated flavour and the corresponding PG/VG base are supplied for the consumer to combine.

The result is a range organised around three specified finished volumes. Preparing the liquid is a necessary part of using the product.

What is Hyper Aroma?

Hyper Aroma is a vape flavour concentrate. It is not ready-to-vape e-liquid.

The concentrate provides the flavour component and must be diluted with the recommended base before use. PG stands for propylene glycol, while VG stands for vegetable glycerine.

Hyper Aroma is designed for use with a 50/50 PG/VG base. Always follow the instructions supplied with the specific product.

Never vape Hyper Aroma concentrate undiluted.

Further product information is available in the Hyper Aroma guide.

What do the Hyper Aroma sizes mean?

Each format identifies the concentrate volume followed by the intended finished e-liquid volume.

Format

Concentrate volume

Intended finished e-liquid volume

3/30ml

3ml

30ml

5/60ml

5ml

60ml

10/120ml

10ml

120ml

The finished volume includes all components added during preparation. It is not the amount of base to add.

Use the product-specific instructions to determine the required quantities. Do not assume that the full contents of every accompanying bottle should be added.

How does Hyper Aroma differ from ready-to-vape liquid?

Ready-to-vape liquid has already been formulated for use in a compatible device.

Hyper Aroma requires preparation: the concentrated flavour must be combined with the corresponding base before use.

A shortfill is another format. It contains premixed, nicotine-free e-liquid in a partially filled bottle, generally leaving space for an appropriate nicotine shot. Hyper Aroma requires the recommended PG/VG base to dilute the concentrate.

These differences determine what must be added before the liquid can be used.

How should Hyper Aroma be prepared?

Follow the instructions supplied with the product:

  1. Check the concentrate size and intended finished volume.

  2. Confirm the required components and quantities.

  3. Combine the components exactly as directed.

  4. Secure the cap and shake thoroughly.

  5. Check that the finished e-liquid is suitable for your device before filling it.

Do not substitute a different base or change the quantities without manufacturer guidance.

Does Hyper Aroma contain nicotine?

Hyper Aroma concentrate contains no nicotine. If a nicotine-containing finished liquid is required, an appropriate nicotine product must be added separately according to the relevant instructions.

Any nicotine added forms part of the total finished volume. The final strength depends on both the quantity and strength of the nicotine product used.

Nicotine is highly addictive. Do not estimate mixing quantities or add nicotine if the instructions are unclear.

Can the finished liquid be used in any vape?

Compatibility depends on the finished liquid and the device. Check the device and coil manufacturer’s recommendations.

Sealed prefilled pod systems cannot be refilled with bottled e-liquid.

What flavours are available?

The launch range includes 15 flavours. Current flavour names, format options and availability are listed in the Hyper Aroma product information.

Does Vaping Products Duty apply to Hyper Aroma?

Hyper Aroma is not automatically exempt from Vaping Products Duty because it is concentrated or nicotine-free.

Vaping Products Duty came into effect on 1 October 2026 at £2.20 per 10ml of liable vaping liquid, equivalent to 22p per millilitre. The duty applies regardless of nicotine content. Read HMRC’s announcement.

HMRC’s definition includes liquids intended for vaping even when consumers must mix them with another substance before use. Supplying concentrate and base separately does not, by itself, create a duty exemption. Read HMRC’s definition of liable vaping products.

Storage and handling

Keep concentrate, base, nicotine products and finished e-liquid out of reach of children and pets.

Retain the original labels, keep bottles securely closed and follow the storage instructions and best-before information supplied with each product.

Hyper Aroma is intended for existing adult vapers aged 18 and over. It is not intended to encourage non-smokers or non-nicotine-users to start vaping.
